East Coast Diesel Service was established in late 2005 to service the Bowen Basin mining industry as well as the wider Whitsunday community. In the past 10 years we have grown from a single contractor to a team of over 40 skilled tradesmen and apprentices. This growth has been due to the 'can do' attitude of management and staff with the vision that no maintenance task is beyond our capabilities.

We strongly believe that a business is only as good as its staff. With this in mind, we have in place a training and skilling program which encourages staff to further themselves by means of experience and training. Staff welcomes these opportunities as they feel their future is secure. We pride ourselves on a low staff turnover, which in turn ensures our clients consistent support.

East Coast Diesel Service offers our clients a wide range of services. These are mainly broken up into two sectors.

Covers all equipment used on mine sites. We offer contract maintenance, field service and labour hire for Boilermakers, Auto-electricians, Diesel Fitters, and Servicemen. Site maintenance services involve Light Vehicle Fleets, Service Trucks, Pumping Plants and Lighting Plants up to Heavy Mobile Equipment. Our workforce comes from a greatly diverse background, with vastly different work experience and knowledge. With this in mind, we endeavour to tailor a perfect fit with our clients' needs in respect to who we send out to the job.

Our Proserpine workshop is more focused on agricultural, earthmoving, transport and 4x4 repair. We service the local community with their daily mechanical needs. In the workshop we utilise the latest diagnostics techniques to correctly repair all types of machinery. We carry a large range of replacement spare parts for 4 wheel drives, trucks and machinery as well as the full range of Hi-tec Oils

East Coast Diesel Service has an aim to operate a safe and healthy workplace, based on mutual respect, fairness and integrity. Our objective is to operate with no injuries and we believe that every injury is preventable. We support initiatives to address OH&S issues and enhance the wellbeing of our employees. We believe that safety is always the direct responsibility of management.

East Coast Diesel Service has in place policies and procedures to meet all the statutory requirements required of professional organisation and to help guide staff in the preservation of a safe, comfortable working environment. We are proactive and committed in our approach to OH&S, training, employment, equal opportunity, conduct and environmental issues that arise and have clear guidelines on how to best deal with them. Continual improvement is highly regarded at East Coast so we offer employees opportunities to further their knowledge in many practical and theoretical areas.

East Coast Diesel Service is 100% committed to the sustainability of the industries in which we are involved. The community in which we work and live is very important to us. We support a number of local charities and clubs to help improve their sustainability and the wellbeing of their patrons. The sense of community is very strong within the East Coast team, where a family based environment is promoted and nurtured to give employees a unique sense of value and belonging.
