Independent Inspections
Independent heavy machinery inspections before you buy, sell, move or return equipment to site.
East Coast Diesel provides independent, trade-led machinery inspections, condition reports and readiness assessments for buyers, sellers, asset owners, auction groups, corporate offices and maintenance teams.

Request an Inspection
Tell us what needs inspecting and where it is.
Whether the machine is in Mackay, Rockhampton, Brisbane, an auction yard, workshop or remote site, send us the basic details and we’ll come back to you with the next step.
Locations
Inspection support across Queensland and remote project locations.
East Coast Diesel can support heavy machinery inspections in Mackay, Rockhampton, Brisbane, Central Queensland, the Bowen Basin and other remote project locations, depending on machine access, timing and site requirements.
Inspections can be arranged at workshops, auction yards, contractor yards, mine sites, storage facilities and equipment disposal locations. For machinery outside our regular operating areas, we can discuss travel requirements and practical inspection options.
Machinery We Inspect
Heavy equipment condition reports across mining, civil and industrial fleets.
East Coast Diesel can assist with independent inspections and condition reporting across a wide range of heavy equipment, attachments and major components.
The Gap
Safety reports do not always tell you machine condition.
Auction listings, risk assessments and sale documents can be useful, but they often do not provide a physical, trade-led view of mechanical condition, repair exposure or operational readiness.
East Coast Diesel fills that gap by providing independent heavy asset inspections focused on what buyers, sellers, asset teams and maintenance decision-makers actually need to know before equipment is purchased, sold, moved, repaired or returned to site.
Inspection & Reporting Services
Independent reporting across the asset lifecycle.
Pre-Purchase Inspections
Independent heavy equipment checks before purchase, helping buyers understand visible condition, repair exposure, operational risks and questions to ask before committing capital.
Pre-Sale & Asset Disposal Reports
Condition reporting for sellers, auction groups and disposal businesses wanting clearer asset information before listing, tendering or transferring equipment.
Corporate Asset Assessments
Independent machinery condition reviews for head office, asset managers, finance teams or senior management who need practical eyes on equipment in the field.
Business Sale Due Diligence
Plant and machinery condition assessments to support business sales, acquisitions, fleet reviews and commercial due diligence processes.
Workshop Progress Reporting
Independent progress checks when machines are sent to town, OEMs or external workshops for refurbishment, mid-life work or major repairs.
Return-to-Site Readiness Checks
Pre-return inspections focused on whether the machine is practically ready to return to site, with outstanding defects, missing items and readiness concerns documented.
As-Ordered vs Actual-Received Checks
Verification support before equipment arrives on site, checking whether what has been supplied, repaired or refurbished aligns with what was ordered or expected.
Failure Analysis Support
Independent review of component failure evidence, maintenance history, strip-down observations and OEM findings to assist commercial and operational decisions.
Report Outputs
Clear inspection reports written for practical decisions.

- Independent summary written in practical trade language.
Failure Analysis Support
Independent review when major components fail.
When engines, transmissions, final drives, pumps, cylinders, hydraulic systems or major components fail, East Coast Diesel can assist with an independent review of the available evidence.
This may include maintenance history review, component timeline, photos before removal, visual strip-down observations, OEM report review and practical comments on likely contributing factors and next steps.
Important
East Coast Diesel inspections are practical, trade-led condition assessments based on the access, information and testing available at the time. They are not a warranty, valuation, engineering certification, roadworthy certificate or replacement for specialist laboratory, metallurgical or statutory assessment where those are required.
