24/7 Industry
It deserves 24/7 workforce support.
01 — The Role
Senior Commercial Leadership Opportunity
Commercial Manager — Fixed Plant, Shutdowns & Projects
Join an established Queensland mining workforce business and lead the creation of a new market vertical, backed by more than 20 years of experience, proven operating infrastructure and purpose-built technology.
We are not looking for someone to inherit an established division. We are looking for someone to help build one.
02 — The Problem
Mining operates around the clock. Too much of the workforce sector still operates as though it does not.
For decades, workers have been scheduled, mobilised, communicated with and paid through the same fragmented processes. Delays are accepted. Poor communication is normalised. People are too often treated as numbers.
We believe there is a better way.
01
It deserves 24/7 workforce support.
02
Payroll, communication and reliability matter.
03
Technology should remove friction, not create more administration.
That belief became the foundation of ECD Workforce.
03 — Our Story
Years
East Coast Diesel Service began with a simple idea: respond faster, supply the right people and support clients when others could not.
More than 20 years later, we are still supplying skilled maintenance personnel into Queensland mining operations — including at one of the first sites we began supporting.
That history matters. It means the next stage of the business is being built on real relationships, proven delivery and experience earned through changing markets.

But the business has grown beyond the name it started with.
ECD Workforce brings together our mining experience, workforce capability, people-first philosophy and purpose-built technology under a brand that reflects where we are going — not only where we have been.
We are not rebranding because we are trying to become something different.
We are rebranding because the business has outgrown the name it started with.
04 — The Founder's Vision
I'm looking for someone to help build what comes next.
I started East Coast Diesel Service because I saw an opportunity in the market. Mining companies needed skilled maintenance people, but too often the providers were too slow to respond or simply could not supply the right people when it mattered.
Business ownership has always been in my blood. My father, grandfather and uncles all built businesses across the mechanical, transport and earthmoving industries. I was never wired to simply work for someone else. I wanted to prove I could build something on my own terms.
For an industry that operates 24 hours a day, the businesses supporting it should be prepared to do the same.
What continues to frustrate me is how little innovation exists in the labour sector. Workers are still scheduled, communicated with and paid through systems and habits that have barely changed in decades.
If someone is paid incorrectly, that matters.
If a supervisor calls at seven o’clock at night because someone has not turned up, that matters.
If technology can remove administration and allow good people to focus on relationships and delivery, that matters.
That is why we built ECD Connect. It is why we are evolving into ECD Workforce. And it is why this role matters.
I am not looking for someone to inherit a mature division. I am looking for someone who understands the Fixed Plant, Shutdown and Projects market and wants the opportunity to help build it.

05 — A Peer's Perspective
You'll be working alongside people who understand what it takes to deliver.
Peer interview coming soon
Cole Bowman
HME Operations Lead
Cole Bowman leads ECD's Heavy Mobile Equipment operations and has played a central role in strengthening how the business recruits, mobilises and supports its workforce.
The successful commercial leader will sit alongside Cole, with responsibility for building the Fixed Plant, Shutdowns and Projects vertical. Both roles will report directly to Grant Fraser.
Cole will share what it is like to work directly with Grant, how decisions are made inside ECD and what support the new commercial leader can expect.
The opportunity is to build your own market, while having an established operating platform behind you.
ECD already has recruitment, mobilisation, compliance, payroll, administration and operational support in place.
That means the new leader can focus on understanding the market, building relationships, identifying opportunities and helping shape how the new vertical develops.
The Heavy Mobile Equipment and Fixed Plant businesses will operate as complementary parts of ECD Workforce — sharing capability, systems, workforce knowledge and commercial opportunities.

We build the systems that make workforce delivery better.
Too much of the workforce sector still relies on disconnected spreadsheets, manual follow-up and fragmented communication.
ECD Connect is our response.
It is a purpose-built workforce platform designed around the real challenges of recruiting, mobilising, scheduling and supporting skilled people across complex mining operations.
